History
The Riviera Concert Brass started in early 2005 when the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary Band was disbanded. Having played together for many years, the players were saddened that they would loose the chance to play together and to raise thousands of pounds for charity. Together with other local musicians, they formed the Riviera Concert Brass under the direction of Mike Griffiths.
The Band
The band is non-contesting and friendly.
It rehearses at Combe Pafford School in Torquay on a Wednesday evening.
Any new members can contact the Musical Director (Mike Griffiths)
on 01803 409181 or on his email: griffiths14@blueyonder.co.uk
If you would like to book the band you should
contact our Band Manager Geoff Bradley on 01803 616702. We are very
fortunate to have Geoff in this role. As a retired businees man
he has the expertise to run the business side of our band in a very
professional manner.
Other Services
The band is over 40 strong but we are able to provide a smaller ensemble if needed. Due to the many ex-military musicians in our band, we are also able to provide buglers to play Last Post or other bugle calls. We also have an experienced fanfare team who have played recently at both Exeter and Truro Cathedrals.
Our Musical Director is able to provide band parts for most National Anthems on request for a small Fee and is also available to provide arrangements of hymn tunes.
