| WEDNESDAY 10TH: Lottery Grant, Awards for all, following our successful bid for £5000-00 to purchase 2 new Bb bases we were fortunate to find two unused instruments that had been ordered but not required. Having saved some money we sought permission from the Grants panel to spend the rest of the money on additional new instruments, we purchased a Flugal Horn and a Tenor Horn, see player pictured with new instruments. | WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR COMBINED CONCERT WITH THE YNYSOWEN MALE CHOIR FROM WALES. THIS CONCERT WILL BE HELD AT CENTRAL CHURCH TORQUAY ON 7TH JUNE AT 7-30PM AND WILL BENEFIT THE CHILDRENS HOSPICE SOUTH WEST. TICKETS ARE GOING WELL INCLUDING A BLOCK BOOKING FOR 50 PEOPLE. | The above concert was a fantastic success with an audience in access of 400.The musical items were of a high standard and much appreciated.THE GRAND SUM OF £1,868 WAS RAISED FOR THE CHILDRENS HOSPICE SOUTH WEST. |
| The band recently had the privilege of having Camilla Sodersrom Tviet guest with the band for two engagements. Camilla was the Bass Trombone player in the renowened all girl trombone ensemble BONES APART before returning to her native NORWAY. Camilla was visiting her friend Hannah our Soprano player.
