Mike Griffiths - Director of Music
We are very fortunate to have Mike to lead the band forward, Mike is the son of Salvation Army Officers and this is where he gained his love of music and his early training. At the age of 15 he joined the Royal Marines Band Service on cornet and violin; this led him to playing in venues all over the world.
Mike is a retired Prison Governor and spends much of his time playing and directing various bands and ensembles as well as being Chair of Governors at Combe Pafford School,and Vice Chair of the Towersey Foundation.

Geoff Bradley - Band Manager
Geoff is responsible for the day to day administration of the band and is the first port of call for enquires and bookings. Even though he doesn’t play an instrument he is a devotee of brass bands and enjoys the fellowship and good music produced by the band. Geoff is also a vice president of the Ynysowen Male Choir (Aberfan) and a foundation governor of a local secondary school. He and Mike work closely together with both the band and with The Towersey Foundation of which they are both Trustees, Towersey provides music therapy for Hospice and other palliative care patients who are living with life threatening illnesses.

John Reeves - Principal Cornet
John is one of the bands most experienced players having played for many years in Her Majesty’s Forces, Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst and also with the William Davis Construction Band.
Since moving to Torquay John has played with several bands over the years but we are pleased he has now joined Riviera Concert Brass, he his very supportive of the younger members of the band and his influence is already having a marked effect.

Soloist and Accompanist Hannah Spooner B.MUS GRNCM PGCE
Hannah plays Soprano Cornet in the band and is also the bands piano accompanist for guest singers who perform at charity concerts where the band is playing. Hannah was educated at Torquay Grammar School for Girls and the Royal Northern College of Music where she gained her Bachelor of music and Graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music.She attended Rolle College Exmouth where she gained her Post Graduate Certificate of Education and was appointed Head of Music at St Cuthbert Mayne School,Torquay, In the past she has played for Wingates Temperance band, Besses o The Barn and Sellers bands. While at the Royal Northern College of Music Hannah had the experience of playing under many famous conductors while a member of the College brass band.
